Long-running American alternative metal act Godsmack have a new album out today called When Legends Rise, along with a new big rock sound. I've also got a new interview with frontman Sully Erna where he talks about how this new direction was directly influenced by their biggest hit to date, 2002's "I Stand Alone." You can read it now in the Interviews section.

I’ve just posted an interview with iconic “American Pie” singer/songwriter Don McLean. He’s recently been honoured for achieving over five million U.S. radio plays of “American Pie,” and three million for “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night).” I spoke to him about his place in contemporary music, and balancing artistic expression with commercialism throughout his career. You can read it now in the Interviews section.

After a little time off I'm back with a new interview for A Journal of Musical Things. This time it's with vocalist/guitarist Andrew Neufeld of the long-running Winnipeg hardcore act Comeback Kid. They've a new album on on two new labels, and a ton of tour dates in North American and Europe. Read it in the Interviews section.
