Zombitrol Productions are returning to Iceland’s Eistnaflug festival for four days of heavy metal, hard rock, and more. So for our second video interview release this week we reached into the The Zombitrol Vaults to bring you an interview with French electronic artist Perturbator that was filmed at last year’s festival. We spoke about his connection to heavy metal, and how his unique upbringing and a love of isolation helped shape his music. Perturbator has his first North American tour coming up this fall.

I’ve got two new video interviews for you this week. First up we have the Finnish monster-rockers Lordi! A decade after their success at the Eurovision song contest, the band finally made their debut in Canada. I spoke to frontman Mr. Lordi about their mainstream past, and why they turned down a huge tour of North American and Europe with Gwar.

Mongolian folk metallers Tengger Cavalry have a new album out today called Die On My Ride, and they kick off a North American tour in Montreal tomorrow. Read my new interview with frontman Nature Ganganbaigal, and find out how he made the move from playing death metal, to injecting throat-singing and Mongolian instruments into his music.

Scottish pirate-metallers Alestorm have a new album out today entitled No Grave But The Sea. Have a listen to my new interview with frontman Christopher Bowes where we talk about the new album, how their music is now essential listening for young metal fans, and why they’re far more serious than people think.
