Prog metallers Periphery return to Canada for one of two dates this weekend on their North American co-headling tour with Animal as Leaders. I spoke with guitarist and band founder Misha Mansoor about following up their previous double-concept album, and if he pays any mind to the excessive trolling the band often receives online. Listen to our conversation here.

Zombitrol Productions are returning to Iceland’s Eistnaflug festival for four days of heavy metal, hard rock, and more. So for our second video interview release this week we reached into the The Zombitrol Vaults to bring you an interview with French electronic artist Perturbator that was filmed at last year’s festival. We spoke about his connection to heavy metal, and how his unique upbringing and a love of isolation helped shape his music. Perturbator has his first North American tour coming up this fall.

I’ve got two new video interviews for you this week. First up we have the Finnish monster-rockers Lordi! A decade after their success at the Eurovision song contest, the band finally made their debut in Canada. I spoke to frontman Mr. Lordi about their mainstream past, and why they turned down a huge tour of North American and Europe with Gwar.
